Definition of a Computer:

A computer is a machine that accepts data in a prescribed form, processes it under the control of a stored program, and supplies the result as information in a specific format. It performs three major functions:

1. Accepts data (Input)
2. Processes data (Processing)
3. Supplies information (Output)

Parts of Computer Include:

• Monitor: Output device that displays information on screen
• Keyboard: Input device with alphanumeric, function, and control keys
• Mouse: Input device for pointing and clicking
• System Unit: Contains the processor and other components
