English Studies Scheme of Work for JSS1 to SS3
English at JSS1 to JSS3 is taught across five strands each week: Speech Work, Grammar, Reading & Comprehension, Composition, and Literature in English. SS1 through SS3 continue with vocabulary, grammar, listening, and writing skills, building toward WAEC/NECO English Language. Below is the full scheme of work for all six levels, every term, so you always know exactly what comes next.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does ₦5,000 cover the whole session for every level?
Yes. One payment of ₦5,000 gets you First, Second, and Third Term notes for JSS1, JSS2, JSS3, and SS1 and SS2, plus every term available for SS3.
Why does JSS3 Third Term look different?
JSS3 Third Term is a short revision term ahead of the JSSCE, so after four weeks of targeted review, the rest of the term moves into general revision and the examination itself.
Why does the JSS1–JSS3 table look different from the SS1–SS3 tables?
English at JSS level is taught across five strands each week — Speech Work, Grammar, Reading & Comprehension, Composition, and Literature — so each week’s row lists all five. At SS level the scheme is organised as a single weekly topic, so those tables follow the simpler one-topic-per-week format.
Why does SS3 only have two terms?
English at SS3 runs a First Term covering vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension strands, and a Second Term focused on government vocabulary, poetry, and report writing, ahead of WAEC/NECO exams.
Does this scheme apply nationwide?
The core topic sequence follows the national curriculum, though individual schools sometimes adjust pacing around their own midterm and exam dates.
